"The Chinese company Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co. has just achieved a historic milestone, reaching 100 Gbps in data transmission via laser communication between satellite and ground stations.
This breakthrough represents a speed ten times faster than the company’s previous record and puts China ahead of projects such as Elon Musk’s Starlink. Whilst Musk’s system already uses laser communication between satellites, it has not yet adopted this technology for direct connection to ground stations.
